Total time:  40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 6 apples
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp milk

Topping:

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400.
  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice 6 apples, set slices aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl combine 1 ½ cups flour, 1 tsp sugar, and ½ tsp salt. Whisk together.
  4. Add the vegetable oil, olive oil, and milk and stir until a soft dough forms.
  5. Press the dough into a 9 or 10 inch tart pan. Try to get it evenly spread about ¼ inch thick, all the way to the edges.
  6. Arrange the apple slices on top of the pastry dough.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the ⅔ cup sugar, 2 Tbsp flour, and 2 Tbsp butter cut into small chunks. Pinch together with your fingers until you have moist crumbs.
  8. Sprinkle crumbs over the apples evenly.
  9. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are bubbly.

Recipe Notes:

This tart works equally well with sliced pears or peaches!
